I agree.. it’s pathetic. Likewise I think it was pathetic to use a baby in the convention, move it around as a prop to showcase “family values”. It made me feel sick in my stomach, to watch that, the hypocrisy of it all.
If children are off limits, they are under all circumstances, not only when it behooves one of the two parties.
Hmmmm.. I think pretty much every presidential candidate and every vice presidential candidate ever has had their family and their children up on stage with them during stump speeches, campaign events and especailly during their acceptance speeches at their respective party conventions. Both parties have always done this and never before have i heard anybody bring this argument up.
How about John Edwards’ kids up on stage with him when he accepted the VP nom in 2004? I think that’s a cheap shot. Of course she would have her family there on such an important day in her and their lives. Obama had his kids on stage in Denver too remember? Or is that OK but Sarah Palin’s kids are not? Or is it because the baby has Downs? Really that is a very shallow argument.
Patrick I do not write this blog so I can spend my days arguing with Obama supporters. You have been pretty polite if not necessarilly correct in your postings but I’m not here to convince you.
I’m here to shore up the real Democrats as we provide each other with support and I am here to protest the un-democratic and un-ethical behaviour of the Obamacrats. More than that I am here to do my part in making sure Obama does not get elected eecause this country cannot afford the consequenses of an Obama administration.

I agree completely with Marge’s comments, esp the first sentence. To be honest I’m not a huge Hillary fan but I agree these attacks are sickening and repulsive–some more than others.
And now they have transferred their idiocy over to Sarah Palin and her family and I *don’t* hope Obama’s ridiculous call to McCain (“control those who attend your rallies”) wakes anybody over there up because it will surely drive more PUMAs over to McCain/Palin. I don’t agree with all their positions either, but it sure will be a lot easier to take a stand against them with constitutional rights intact.
As far as the Palin children being on stage with her: What exactly is wanted here? First people complain they know nothing about her and, given people’s hyperventilating obsession with who Trig’s “real” mother is, had Sarah not brought them there surely would be all kinds of absurd theories about what she was hiding.
And this–”not only when it behooves one of the two parties”–is a concept Barack Obama needs desperately to consider, whatever the issue.
