The Day Truth Died & The Election that Was – Examples of Main Stream Media Folly in Modern Politics

I have been so shocked and angered over the last two weeks (actually the entire primary season but in particular the last two weeks) at the farce that passes for news coverage these days! Apparently these so-called professionals are nothing more than OP/ED mouthpieces even as they call themselves “news professionals” they constantly spout off with their opinions as though they are facts. They are completely sold on themselves and their pompous rhetoric and completely insulted if anyone should dare to voice a different opinion or heaven forbid, point out facts!

It used to be there were standards in journalism. Once upon a time they reported the news as it happened and did not try to influence it. Once upon a time reporters had to have legitimate sources, information and research to back up their work. Now they report the news as they want it to be and force feed it to us on every channel until, like advertising, you simply can’t get their words out of your head. It’s like some nightmare where they play really old, bad yodeling country music as loud as it can get inside your head and it’s stuck on re-play!

This 2008 Democratic Primary will go down in History regardless of what happens for many, many reasons. I’m NOT just talking about the fact that for the first time we have both a serious African American and a serious Woman candidate, this race will go down in the books because it is the first time in history that we have had a candidate win victories with 35% and 41 % margins and the press screams “meaningless”, “racist”, “in-consequential”!

Since when is a 41% lead “in-consequential”?? When in history, EVER, have we had the press try to influence the political process in such a such shameful manner? Since when do TV Talking Heads decide presidential primaries?

If we are to believe the press (I wouldn’t advise it.) winning swing states and large states with lots of electoral votes, winning over the traditional “lunch bucket Democrats” is of no consequence whatsoever! The press and the far, left wing of the Democratic Party would have us believe that they don’t need those voters. They don’t need California, Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, Kentucky or any of those other states that Barrack Obama DID NOT WIN! Those voters along with the voters in Florida and Michigan simply DO NOT MATTER! Just ask almost any news pundit or better yet ask the Obama campaign and the Super Delegates supporting him!

You could ask the Chairman of the DNC, Howard Dean but you would only receive more of the same. The DNC, Dean and Reid, Pelosi, Brazille and the rest of the “Obamaphiles” should really be ashamed of themselves! They are not acting in the best interest of Democrats or the country! They want to seize control of the DNC for themselves, the elitist, left wingers.

They really don’t care about the majority of the American people or the good of the party or they would NOT be trying to take over!

The fact is it is Obama who is the party insurgent, he is the one running against the incumbent candidate (Hillary Clinton) and it is Obama, his supporters and his stooges (YUP! I mean you Donna Brazille!) that are in fact divisive. They have attacked, schemed and bullied Hillary every step of the way and even attacked former President Bill Clinton claiming his Administration to be “no different” than the Bush Administration, yet they continue to insist that poor Barrack is the victim here. “Those meany Clinton’s are racists and she’s running solely on her husband’s reputation.”

Which incidentally, if you listen to Obama is meaningless too because he claims the Clinton Administration was not much different than the Bush Administration! OUTRAGEOUS! I can’t believe they let this man speak! He constantly says the stupidest things! It’s an inconceivable feat that he has come this far with so many idiotic statements coming out of his mouth! (How about the Great Lakes of Oregon? or the 57 states he’s visited so far? With 1 more to go and Alaska and Hawaii taken off the itinerary by his staff. That would make his count 60 states??? WTF??)

Then you have him and his people calling Hillary negative and divisive! They call her Hitlery, Billary, Bitch, F-ing Whore and other extremely negative things. The media has been overwhelmingly nasty and sexist and they have been getting away with it!

Then there’s his stream of scary buddies ie: Rezco, Ayers, Wright, Farrakan, Odinga and the list goes on and on. His lame and very thin record and oh, lest we forget his “Rock”, the “Woman behind the Man”, Michelle Obama!

Yes, Michelle-I’m-proud-of-my-country-for-the-first-time-Obama! The lady who attacked Hillary for “Not being able to run her house so how can she run the White House” last fall. (nice, feminist sentiment from a fellow woman huh?)

Barrak has threatened Republicans and told them to “Lay Off” his wife because he finds it unacceptable. Here’s what I have to say about that.

Get over yourself! If your wife is campaigning for you and attacks others for you then you can’t bitch when she gets attacked! Especially when the words being used came out of her own mouth! ON VIDEO NO LESS! So it’s NOT SLANDER! Nor is it unfair. If you don’t want your words used against you then keep your mouth shut! Otherwise take responsibility for what you say!

Even more important is this little tidbit. That is a drop in the bucket compared to what the GOP will be throwing at him in the General Election should he succeed in his attempt to thwart the only candidate with a real shot at winning!

If he manages to dupe the DNC into giving him the nomination he WILL LOSE IN NOVEMBER! Not only is he fatally flawed (the GOP knows this) but his poor treatment of half the party is so deplorable that should this happen there will be a major defection from the Democratic party on the day after the convention! We will vote across party lines if this guy is nominated because it’s more important to have a President we can trust!

Hillary Clinton or the alternative. McCain or Nadar?

The DNC is going to pay a very high price for their BS biased, shove it down our throats attitude toward the primaries! We are sick of them telling us who we are niminating! It is still a democracy here right? I mean we have th right to vote for who we choose right? Or have we become a dictatorship and no one wants to tell us?

They have completely ignored the voices of millions of voters in Florida and Michigan, they have tried with all thier might to make it look as though Hillary is a Ron paul or a Mike Huckabee with no real measure of votes or delegates. They have continually ignored the fact that this is one of the closest races in history and the fact that NIETHER CANDIDATE can reach the magic number without the votes of the Super Delegates!

Complete bias by DNC leaders Dean, Ried, Pelosi, Brazille you know what I say Screw ’em! What do they know? They and the media have gone to great lenths to cover up this man’s flaws, they have villified Senator Clinton at every turn, they have delighted in saying her campaign is over, dead in the water, has no hope scince Iowa.

What the hell do they know? They said McCain was dead too remeber? They are and have been in complete denial for months. They really believe if they keep telling us he’s the winner and keep screaming “The Witch is Dead” that we’ll swallow it! Really? Wouldn’t count on it Buckos!

They really think they can treat our candidate and us like this and get away with it? They really tink if they manage to railroad Obama into the nomination that we’ll “come home” and vote democrat because we should be loyal to them even if they treat us like garbage! What an outrage! Thjey don’t believe that we will cross party lines and vote against that loser in November? Watch me! Never voted GOP or anything but DEM scince I started voting but if they put this untested, inexperienced and unabashedly naive candidate up in November I will definitely NOT vote for him!

It’s not because he’s black, not because I think he’s some closet muslim, not because Hillary is a woman it’s because quite simply this man is an idiot and he is fatally flawed and CANNOT WIN AGAINST THE REPUBLICANS IN NOVEMBER!

To show how serious we are some of us have joined a group on the DNC website called DIRVAO – Democrats Independants and Republicans Voting Against Obama. Covert ops as my friend and fellow clinton supporter put it. We will use their own website to organize against their “Golden Boy” and maybe they will see we are serious. If they manage to push Hillary out of the race and continue to ignore the fact that she has more popular votes they will lose at least half of their party and voting base and yes their cash cow maybe for good. Or at least until we run these shysters out! This is just beginning!

Here is a link to the group for any interested in learning more or joining the group.

This is not the first time I’ve heard or read about the effects of Karl Rove in his “behind the scenes” attempt to thwart the Clinton campiagn.

It’s a long article but worth the time reading. He is the guy who helped GW steal teh last two elections. Remember?

Here is another site that I found some very interesting information on.

Here is a letter to Obama and the response the writer got back!

My Message to Senator Obama
I sent this via his website to Sen. Obama

Senator Obama,

I admit I am a supporter of Senator Clinton however, I am a proud democrat who will give my vote to whoever the nominee is. Senator, some of your supporters have been harassing us on the Clinton site. Saying things like “Anyone who supports Clinton are braindead primates” any many other intolerant things. We welcome debate Senator, but sir, I am going to have problems voting for you in the General Election if you get the nomination when I think of who your supporters are and what kind of people they are, and yes sir, what kind of moral values they have. I would appreciate it so much if you could please ask your supporters to be more tolerant. I, and other supporters of Senator Clinton would ever so appreciate it.

Jake – OH

Any thoughts? I think I handled it well…Also a note to any Obama supporters out there. Some of you really want to debate I am referencing to a minority here who have been very very very very obnoxious.

Everyone intrested in being bemused…
Anyone who saw my last post knows I sent a letter via email to Senator Obama about the flamers we have on this site. What did I get back?

Jake —

Vote absentee by mail

Mr Obama’s campaign is energized by fanatic cult
followers! They ( in general ) do not care about issues
and they are rude!
I’m not at all surprised that they completely ignored what you said and instead tried to pressure you into voting for him NOW!

Shows how uncaring, and self involved his campaign really is.

Obama naturally decided to come out with a similar plan after this was announced and of course tried to take credit for hillary’s ideas and tried to claim he was the only one with a plan. :^(

This is exiting! Read below and you’ll see something I have never seen or heard from ANY politician before!

“Hillary believes our climate crisis presents us with a significant opportunity. She is prepared to harness America’s entrepreneurial spirit and make the bold investments necessary to lead us to an energy independent future, of which green-collar jobs are the cornerstone.”

I have long believed that although yes, it is a crisis, there is a lot of economic value at we can actually converting ourselves to green power and green in general! The most I’ve ever heard is the GOP trying to argue that there is NO crisis and finally admitting there is a crisis but not really doing a thing about it seems just fine to them. The Dems regularly have and do talk about the crisis and what we need to do but I have never see anyone else say that we can turn this crisis into an opportunity! THAT is a presidential worthy comment folks! Go Hillary!

Today, at the General Motors Allison Transmission Plant, in White Marsh, Maryland, Hillary outlined her Green Jobs plan, which will stimulate economic growth, end our dependence on foreign oil and provide good-paying jobs in Maryland and around the country. Hillary’s plan will transform the way we use energy, finally require large oil companies to pay their fair share towards renewable technologies, and create at least five million new jobs in the process.

Hillary’s Green Jobs Plan will:

  • Modernize 20 Million Low-Income Homes to Improve Energy Efficiency.
  • Provide emergency energy assistance for Maryland families facing skyrocketing heating bills.
  • Invest $5 billion in accelerated energy efficiency and alternative energy investments to jumpstart green collar job growth.
  • Create a $50 Billion Strategic Energy Fund and Demand that Oil Companies Invest in Clean Energy.
  • Raise Fuel Economy Standards. Hillary has proposed a plan to raise fuel economy standards to 40 mpg by 2020 and 55 mpg by 2030.
  • Help Automakers Retool Plants.
  • Promote Plug-In Hybrids (PHEV).
  • Create a Green Building Fund to Make Public Buildings More Energy Efficient.
  • Train “Green Collar” Workers.

Hillary believes our climate crisis presents us with a significant opportunity. She is prepared to harness America’s entrepreneurial spirit and make the bold investments necessary to lead us to an energy independent future, of which green-collar jobs are the cornerstone. Bitter Dissapointment in Washington Caucus Results!
I am posting this on the HillaryClinton index site and the HillaryClinton.com blog site as well as my personal blog.

I am so dissapointed in the Washington Voters right now it makes me sick! I cannot believe that they swung towards Obama in spite of all the evidence that Hillary is the best person for the job!

I was not surprised that our Govenor went that way. Sorry to say I voted for her and have regretted every since! She may indeed be a Democrat but she has consistantly gone against what most Washington Dems want. I really wish Cantwell or Murray would have run I’d much rather vote for them and they do support Hillary and the main bulk of Dems here in Washington State. Either would be twice the govenor she is!

Of course I also feel I need to mention my dissatisfaction with the media coverage of the caucuses as well. As usual it’s about 75% slanted toward the media darling Senator Obama. I’m sick of reading reports that critisize Chelsea and Bill for supporting their wife and mother! EVERY candidate running has the support of their spouses and children and NONE of them were accused of “pimping out” their offspring! None of the spouses have been critisized for attacking the opposing candidates as Bill was. Michele Obama has been on the attack from day one saying some very nasty things that in my opinon were way out of line but the media never calls them on that.

To top it off Hillary is now being disparaged because she lent her campaign 5 million and people want her to show where it came from. PLEASE! As if the Clintons are poor and desparate and couldn’t possibly have money from their own ventures, books, speaking engagments not to mention their salaries!Nobody demanded Mitt Romney publish his tax returns and proove that his money was “good money”! (And we all know he spent plenty!) She does declare income and assets very year in the senate and that should be sufficient. Not only that But I have read two different news reports now that practicly, all but call her a liar, stating that “Mrs. Clinton claims to have raised 7.5 million since Tuesday the 5th.” as if she made it all up and is destitute! Why would she be? Why would she lie? Why don’t they make these assumptions about other candidates?

I’ll tell you why because Barak Obama is the media’s pick! They think they have the right to slant the news to suit them instead of reporting it fairly! I will NEVER watch MSNBC news again until they apologize and mend their biased ways!

I know this has been a long rant but I am seriously fed up! I have decided to start an email campaign to the “Super Delegates” in hopes of swaying them in Hillary’s favor for the good of our country. I hope to encourage my friends and family to do the same.

I am really annoyed that it will more than likely come down to them choosing our nominee but since that’s how it works, at least for now, I’ll have to go with it.

I want to encourage all of you to do the ame either by email or snail mail! Write the most informed, impassioned letters that you can and send them ASAP! Hillary needs our help and WE need her as our president!

Also please try to encourage friends, family, co-workers and fellow supporters to come here to the site as well as HillaryClinton.com and make their voices and choices heard!

Thanks for letting me rant guys! I’ll go fix breakfast and try to calm my nerves now!

Edit 7/1/08

We had still not learned of all the fraudulent and bully tactics used by the obama supporters at the time I wrote this. I have since realized that not oly is the caucus system inherently unfair to many groups of people it is also easily manipulated. Were it not for this fact and the complete lack of morals on the part of the Obama campaign he would never have been within reach of the nomination. It was caucus gaming and fraud combined with media collusion, Super delegates pressuring and lat but by no means least the RBC decision on may 31st that ultimately gave the nomination to Obama.

The Media Needs to be Spanked!
Honestly, I believe it’s time for all of us to stand up for what is right and force the media to take a long look at themselves!

I think they have forgotten their job is to report on the news that has happened. NOT to tell us what is and isn’t news and what our opinion is or isn’t. It used to work that way. The votes would be cast, counted, certified and THEN they would be reported! The candidates and issues were scrutinized and carefully dissected, ALL of the candidates and issues, not just the ones the media decided to support!

Once upon a time the media were expected to be un-biased as well they should be. Now they decide what and who they think is worth reporting on and they expect us to buy it all hook , line and sinker.

Well I say B**S***! Go back to doing your job! Report the news. ALL of the news and don’t presume to tell us what to think, who to vote for, or for that matter anything else! Just report the news as it happens!

Every time Obama has attacked Hillary or made untrue statements about her the media thinks he’s so cute and they hang on his every word. The guy can do no wrong in their book apparently. However should Hillary fight back and defend herself or G** forbid point out HIS poor voting record or the stupid statements he has made (on video no less) they call her racist, petty, divisive. I simply cannot believe how completely biased the mainstream media has become!

I guess the fact that all the news stations are owned by one of 3 or 4 big companies has a lot to do with it as does their bottom line. Personally I’m looking for un-biased reporting of the news not some corporate BS that someone thinks will get viewers to tune in.

Anyone else feel this way??

Edit 7/1/08
It seemed a scathing post at the time but i was to find out along with the rest of America that the media bias and the Obama Steam-rolling, Propaganda Pushing Machine was just getting warmed up!

the pot is calling the kettle….well you know
For those who are sick of hearing that Obama and Edwards don’t take money from special interests or that they allow them no influence read below.

Fact Check: Sen. Obama’s Bill Allows Lobbyists To Wine and Dine Members of Congress, As Long As They Are Standing Up
Last night, Sen. Barack Obama bragged that he passed lobbying reform that prohibited lobbyists from buying meals for members of Congress:

OBAMA: I just want to add, I agree with John, which is why I prohibited lobbyists from buying meals for members of Congress…
Sen. Obama forgot to mention that the bill still allowed lobbyists to wine and dine members of congress, as long as they were standing up. ABC News reports:
ABC News found caterers working overtime as once again lobbyists spared no expense to entertain members of Congress and their staffs. Under new congressional ethics laws, lobbyists can spend all they want on holiday parties as long as everyone is standing up.

“You can no longer eat sitting down,” Ellen Miller, co-founder and executive director of the Sunlight Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to making government more accessible on the Internet, said. “There really has to be finger food. I think you can eat food that’s on a toothpick, but if it requires a fork or knife, forget it.”

And ABC News found plentiful spreads of catered food and well-stocked bars at elegant locations all over the capital — the kind of expense only the well-funded can afford.

“There is no way we can compete with that kind of money and that kind of influence-peddling,” Wiles said.

The Chair of Obama’s New Hampshire Campaign Is A Lobbyist For The Pharmaceutical Industry

Though Sen. Obama has also said that he won’t take federal PAC and lobbyist money on his campaign, he does take money from state based lobbyists as previously reported by First Read.

Sen. Obama’s co-chair in New Hampshire, Jim Demers, is a state based lobbyist for the pharmaceutical and financial services industries amongst others.

And there’s more….

From Newsday SpinCycle:
Anti-Lobbyist Obama enlists NH Lobbyist

Barack Obama has backhandedly slapped Hillary Rodham Clinton for accepting contributions from lobbyists and PACs, eschewing cash from both groups because he doesnt want to be beholden to special interests. So it was with great interest that we read in the Boston Globe that BHO has enlisted New Hampshire lobbyist Jim Demers (who represents trial lawyers, firefighters and a major video poker/slot machine vendor, according to his firms Website) to be one of his New Hamsphire co-chairs.

Demers has already helped Obama organize events in the Granite State and has helped establish his organization.

In April, Obama refunded about $50,000 in lobbyist contributions. Its not clear if Demers $2,300 was among the refunds. (His name isnt on Obamas refunds list because the campaign is only rejecting cash from federal lobbyists — an interesting ethical hair-split).

Even if he refunded Demers check and we have no reason to believe Demers has anything but the purest motives for joining the campaign — the hiring raises questions. What good is returning a few grand from a lobbyist if that lobbyist is going to have unfettered access to the candidate as a volunteer?

Sen. Obama Promised to Support Repealing PATRIOT Act, Then Voted to Extend It
In 2003, Sen. Obama said that he would support a repeal of the U.S. PATRIOT Act:

Q4. Would you vote to repeal the U.S. Patriot Act?” A. “Yes, I would vote to repeal the U.S. Patriot Act, although I would consider replacing that shoddy and dangerous law with a new, carefully crafted proposal& [Illinois NOW questionnaire, 9/10/03]
In 2006, Sen. Obama to extend the PATRIOT Act:

The Washington Post said of the reauthorization, “[T]he Patriot Act fight started with promises of major changes and ended largely with the status quo.” Obama himself said the bill only “modestly” improved the PATRIOT Act and failed to do enough to protect civil liberties. [HR 3199, Vote #29, 3/2/06; Washington Post, 3/7/06; Obama Floor Statement, 2/16/06]

And still more….

Sen. Obama Promised To Oppose Iraq War Funding, Then Voted For Every Iraq War Funding Bill
As a Senate candidate in November 2003, Sen. Obama said he would have ‘unequivocally’ voted against war funding because it was the only way to oppose Bush on Iraq:

“Just this week, when I was asked, would I have voted for the $87 billion dollars, I said ‘no.’ I said no unequivocally because, at a certain point, we have to say no to George Bush. If we keep on getting steamrolled, we are not going to stand a chance.” [Obama remarks, New Trier Democratic Organization forum, 11/16/03; Video]
But until he ran for president, Sen. Obama supported every funding bill for Iraq. [2005 Vote # 117, HR1268, 5/10/05; 2005 Vote # 326, S1042, 11/15/05; 2006 Vote # 112, HR4939, 5/4/06; 2006 Vote # 239; 2006 Vote # 186, S2766, 6/22/06, HR5631, 9/7/06]
